In January, the U.S. Department of Education released the 2024 National Educational Technology Plan (NETP): A Call to Action for Closing the Digital Access, Design and Use Divides. Join us for a panel discussion with a district leader, instructional coach, and teacher to discuss the three barriers, or digital divides, that limit educational technology’s ability to transform teaching and learning. How can we instead realize the potential of educational technology to support teaching and learning, and what can do to address the divides and meet the needs of all learners?

A perfect way to bridge the language gap for newcomer ENL students in all types of classrooms! With the use of technology and Microsoft Translator, we will show you how to use certain devices and programs to allow beginner ENL students to fully understand what is being taught in each classroom. Whether it be live lectures, a one-on-one conversation, a video with no subtitles, or a worksheet that couldn't be translated, we will show you ways in which to engage our English Language Learners.

Tech Staff Developers Lauren Lavelle and Mike Davola from Garden City Schools are at the forefront of this educational evolution with their ""PBL By Design"" initiative. Integrating insights from Jon Spencer, Stanford's d.school, David Lee EdTech, among others, they have crafted a unique, structured approach that intertwines PBL and Design Thinking into the curriculum.

The “PBL by Design” Framework empowers students to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. It goes beyond traditional learning, encouraging students to apply their knowledge and skills in practical, impactful ways. This hands-on approach not only enriches their learning experience but also prepares them to be proactive, creative problem-solvers in a rapidly changing world."

Our WINGS program provides students K-5 with multiple opportunities to share their learnings through a variety of modalities, highlighting their voice and choice. Students learn and explore through a variety of technology platforms and software programs.
